Raw Water Pump Rebuilds in Brisbane

Seadog Marine rebuilds and repairs marine diesel raw water pumps from our Manly, Brisbane workshop. We inspect the complete pump, not just the impeller, to identify worn bearings, leaking seals and housing damage.

    The service

Good cooling work starts with finding the real cause.

Clear findings and practical options, grounded in the condition of your component and the wider system.

A raw water pump moves seawater through the engine's cooling circuit. An impeller change alone may not resolve a leaking shaft seal, rough bearing or worn housing. We assess the pump's condition and explain the repair, rebuild or replacement options before proceeding.

Our documented work includes Johnson, Sherwood, Yanmar 3GM, Ford Lees and Cummins raw water pump rebuilds, plus a manufactured replacement shaft for a Perkins 6.354-4 pump. Visit the examples below to see actual workshop work rather than generic product photos.

Based at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron in Manly, we service vessels across Brisbane, Moreton Bay and South East Queensland. Send the engine model, pump brand or part number, photos and a description of the fault when requesting an estimate.

    Straight answers

    Questions vessel owners ask.

Share what you know about the engine and the problem. We can help work out the next step.

Is a raw water pump rebuild the same as an impeller replacement?

No. Replacing the impeller addresses one wearing part. A rebuild considers bearings, seals, shaft condition and the pump housing as well. The work needed depends on what inspection finds.

Can every marine raw water pump be rebuilt?

Not always. Severe housing corrosion, wear or damaged components may make replacement more appropriate. We assess the pump before recommending a repair or replacement.

What should I send for a rebuild estimate?

Include the engine make and model, pump brand or part number if known, clear photos and details of leaks, noise or overheating. Tell us where the vessel is located and whether the pump is still fitted.
